What is the definition of superfood?
To me it's high nutrient value per calorie.
To some, a superfood has to be an exorbitant cost because obviously for it to be good for us, it has to be from the Amazon picked by a rare species of squirrel and only under a full moon when venus is aligned with Jupiter. Uhm. No.
My personal definition, or at least the definition I've probably read somewhere and it's resonated with me for the longest time, is that yields a high nutrient value per calorie consumed is a superfood.
In other words - bang for your buck!
So go forth and conquer, my little lentils, baby spinach and peas. It's your time to shine! Acai, maca and chaga mushrooms can actually take a back seat PARTICULARLY if they've been freeze dried and come in powder form.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk ;-)
